its true that a lot of guitarists these days are technically better, but they didn’t change music like the other guys. the ‘other guys’ were pioneers, they invented that sound. so you cant really say whos ‘better.’

At the very least, SRV would have been very keen on Johnny, and wary of his prowess, because Johnny can play nearly any style of contemporary guitar and shift gears between styles effortlessly and still maintain his own distinct sound.
