Sunday, November 20th, 2011The dateJune 25, 2009is a date that many may never forget, since it is the day that the world lost the King of Pop Michael Jackson. From the moment that the news broke out that Jackson was dead many speculated on the cause of his death, it was well known that Michael was on several different drugs but the extent was only known to those closest to the King of Pop.
According to the first autopsy done by the LA County Coroner’s Office there were prescription drugs present in his system but could not tell which ones until the Toxicology report would come out. The results also showed that no foul play was involved in the superstar’s demise.
The results of the first autopsy caused the Jacksonfamily to call for a second autopsy to be done by a private coroner’s office. What the second autopsy showed were also disturbing. The stomach contents of Jackson’s stomach contained no food, only partially digested pills and his body was riddled with injection sites. The follow up toxicology report revealed that Jacksonwas using several prescription drugs at the time of his death which include: a muscle relaxant Soma, sedative Xanax, anti-depressant Zoloft, Paxil for anxiety and the heartburn pill Prilosec. With the potential side effects of Paxil and the other drugs he was taking it was a miracle that he could even perform.
The most curios part in the death of Michael Jackson is the part that his doctor at the time, Dr. Conrad Murray played in the events leading to the superstar’s death. In both of the two autopsy reports it is seen thatJackson was given multiple injects to his heart, and both say 3 were successfully injected while one missed and hit the rib cage area. Several health experts have expressed amazement that a trained cardiologist could have made such an error which could have saved the entertainer’s life. Currently there is an ongoing trail against Murray who is charged for involuntary manslaughter for his role inJackson’s death.
It does not matter if you loved him or criticized him one can not deny that Michael Jackson was a one of a kind singer, dancer and overall entertainer. As Usher sang during the funeral “Born to amuse, to inspire, to delight, here one day, gone one night, like a sunset, dying with the rising of the moon, Gone too soon.”
